Transportation Program

Are you homeless?
Have an appointment and can't get there?
Have to walk to work?
Have no photo identification?
Join the Homeless Transportation Program
Come to the Homeless Resource Network, 2221 2nd Avenue, Columbus, Georgia on a Tuesday or Thursday from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Bring a letter of residency from a shelter and all the identification you have.
You will receive a Metra Public Transit Photo Identification Card and blue bus tickets to ride the Columbus bus system free of charge. 
To pick up more blue bus tickets visit the office on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday with your Metra ID Card and information on where you need to go. Blue bus tickets are given to look for employment, go to school, visit a doctor, or keep a social service agency appointment. 

Identification Program

Are you Homeless and need ID? The Homeless Resource Network Birth Certificate Program can help. We can help you get your birth certificate and other documents needed to get a state identification card and then your state identification card as well. If you need help, visit the Network office at 2221 2nd Avenue, Columbus, Georgia, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
